Clarence goes out west and meets a purple horseClarence Goes out West and Meets a Purple Horse is written and illustrated by Arizona resident Jean Ekman Adams.  Clarence is a pig who decides he wants to take a trip to a ranch Out West.  Once there he is taught all about ranches by Smoky, who happens to be a purple horse.  The beautiful illustrations add to the story and provide humor that readers of all ages will enjoy.  (Fountas & Pinnell Level G)
