Books
Reading Seed offers two collections of books that support literacy efforts in Pima County and Southern Arizona.
The Lending Library has grown to include more than 17,000 books for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Books are available for check out to reading coaches and other literacy providers, as well as to teachers, parents and librarians. The focus of the library is “high-interest low-level books.” These books are all identified in two ways, one for the grade level appropriate to the books’ content, style and interest and another for the books’ reading level, which is lower.

Reading also has a collection of 5,000-6,000 gently used free books donated by Goodwill Industries, other organizations and corporations, and individual donors. Volunteers sort and clean donated books and Reading Seed makes the free books available to reading coaches, teachers, parents and librarians. We encourage people to give these books to children who would otherwise have no books of their own. Click here for frequently asked questions about the free book program.
I’ve been using the Reading Seed Lending Library for a couple of years now and it has been wonderful for my students and I. So I wanted to say thank you a million times!— Reem Kievit, 3rd Grade Teacher at Dietz Elementary
